The Val d’Orcia is known throughout the world for its green hills, its magical medieval hamlets and the intensity of the emotions it evokes.

In 2004 the Val d’Orcia was designated as a site of World Heritage for Humanity by Unesco as a result of the wonderful state of preservation of its landscapes, identified during the Renaissance as emblems of good government, equilibrium, harmony and beauty.
