The Springs

The centre of the village is the site of the Piazza delle Sorgenti, where thermal spring water at a temperature of about 49°C has been bubbling up from a depth of 1000 metres for more than 2000 years.

The water is classified as hyperthermal bicarbonate-sulphate-alkaline-earthy.

The depth of the underground stratum of origin allows the water to become enriched with precious elements which have a multiplicity of healing properties. The abundance of salts, calcium, iron carbonates, sodium sulphates and magnesium is beneficial to bones, joints, the circulatory system and the skin.
